Will my website be on the first page of Google?

On completion of your website, it will be submitted to all major search engines such as Google, Yahoo etc.  All Finance tool sites are designed with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind e.g., using a high percentage of keywords relative to content, inclusion of a site map page, use of keywords as anchor text and so on.  Whilst we cannot guarantee a page one ranking on Google, these techniques greatly enhance your site rankings.  SEO is however an ongoing process and an area of specialization.  Finance Tools uses a third party provider for SEO service and is able to manage this process on your behalf.

Can I use my Finance Tools designed website for a Google Adwords campaign?

Of course! Any website can be used in a Google Adwords campaign. Google AdWords can increase your website traffic for keywords that due to high competition may result in poor organic search engine rankings or rankings. When using Google Adwords you simply "pay per click". This means you choose the keywords you want to be listed under e.g.,, loan, first home buyer, mortgage broker etc and when someone types these words into the Google search engine your website will be displayed in the sponsored sites section on the right hand side or top of the natural results. The positioning of your site will be determined by your advertising budget and your bid placed on each keyword. Nevertheless, it is definitely something you can use your Finance Tools designed website for.

What can I change on the website?

Our sites are perfect to use as is, however they are able to be adapted to suit your business and your individual requirements. You have the freedom to change pictures, menu links and standard content. If you have additional content you would like us to add or if your company would like to advertise certain specials, we can also accommodate that in your website. Please feel free to discuss your needs with us as there is a great deal of flexibility in our website product and we will endeavour to satisfy your requirements.

Do I need to find photos to put on my website?

No, all Finance Tools websites come complete with all text and photos. If you like a certain website but prefer a photo which appears on another of our sites, we are able to swap these images to suit you. We can also research and purchase a specific photo for you, if required. There is an additional fee for this service of $50 per photo. However we have found that most clients do find a photo they like from our existing galleries as we have many to choose from.

I'm ready to get my website now; what do you need from me to get started?

The process has been designed to be as easy as possible. In order to commence work on your website we need a copy of your logo. This should be in "EPS" or "AI" format. If you are not sure about this, the graphic designer that created your logo should be able to provide you with this.

Secondly, we will need your domain name username and password. If you do not have this available, we can arrange for a reminder to be emailed to you, so that we can gather this information.

Finally, if you require any text or image changes to the website chosen, we will need these. This is optional.

Can I make changes to my website?

Keeping your website content relevant and up to date is possible with Finance Tools sites, as sites come equipped with the option to have our Content Management System. If you feel that your site needs any graphical changes, or you prefer not to update text yourself, we can assist you with this for an additional fee of $80 per hour.

How do I encourage existing and new clients to visit my website?

There are a number of ways to attract clients to your site, below are a few hints to get you started;

  • Include your web address on all correspondence. This includes adding your web address to your email signature.


  • Send an e-newsletter to your existing database informing your clients that your new website is up and running. Highlight the benefits the new site will provide to your clients such as the abundance of informative information displayed on your site, the advantages of using your branded checklists and mortgage calculators in their property activities and so on.


  • Encourage clients to tell their friends about the site. This can be achieved via the use of e-newsletters which can be forwarded by your clients to their friends or relatives.


  • Undertake a marketing campaign with your web address displayed. This could include letterbox distribution, magazine advertisements, direct mail etc


The more clients that know about your website the more hits your website will receive which in turn should generate more leads to your business.

What do I do if my emails are not working?

The first thing to do is to check if your internet connection is working. If not, you will need to establish a live connection for your emails to function correctly. Contact your internet service provider e.g., Telstra Bigpond, Optusnet etc for assistance with this.

If you do have a live internet connection, check the following;

  1. Have you entered the details for your emails correctly? Refer to the "email set-up" document which was provided by Finance Tools. If yes;
  2. Can you log into your webmail (i.e., check your emails from your web-browser)?
    • If you are able to log into your webmail and can send/receive from this medium, but are unable to send/receive emails via Outlook, you will need to go back and check the settings and your internal network.
    • If you are unable to log into your webmail, please contact Finance Tools for further assistance.

I am receiving an error message "0x800ccc90", what do I do?

You are receiving this message because email client, Outlook, is unable to connect to the incoming mail server. The reason for this, in most instances, is an antivirus program or a firewall which is blocking Outlook from accessing the incoming mail server.

You will need to "disable" all antivirus programs and firewalls and try the send/receive again. Please ensure that the program does not just minimize to the bottom right of the screen, as this means it is still running. If you are still having troubles, please contact Finance Tools for further assistance.
